• Villaviciosa de Odón: the journey to this municipality takes less than 15 minutes. There you will find it interesting to see the Castle of Villaviciosa de Odón, built in the 15th century. You can also enjoy the Villaviciosa de Odón Forest Park, a natural area perfect for walking, picnics and relaxing in contact with nature. The Church of San Juan Bautista, which is one of the oldest buildings in the town and worth a visit if you are interested in religious architecture. The Casa de Ciriaco, a typical local building houses the Tourist Office and is a good place to start exploring the local history.
  
• Fuenlabrada: Fuenlabrada can be reached from Móstoles in about 12 minutes on the M-506. On arrival, you can visit the Solidarity Park, ideal for relaxing, playing sports or having a picnic. Nearby is the Centro de Arte Tomás y Valiente (CEART), one of the most outstanding cultural spaces in the south of Madrid, where contemporary art exhibitions and workshops are programmed.
  
• Leganés: Leganés can be reached in just 15 minutes from Móstoles. There you can stroll through the historic centre, where the 18th century Church of San Salvador and the lively Plaza Mayor stand out. For a more cultural experience, head to the Open Air Sculpture Museum, with more than a hundred modern pieces distributed throughout the municipality. Another unique place is the Polvoranca Park, between Leganés and Alcorcón, perfect for spending a day among lakes, birds and nature trails.
  
• San Lorenzo del Escorial: this municipality is located in the Guadarrama mountain range, about 50 minutes from Móstoles. Without a doubt, you should not miss the Monastery of El Escorial, an impressive complex that was built in the 16th century by King Felipe II. This monastery, which also houses a royal palace and a library, is a World Heritage Site. Another interesting place is the Old Town of San Lorenzo del Escorial, with picturesque streets and historic buildings. You can stroll around its Plaza de la Constitución, surrounded by classical buildings, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the place.
  
• Navalcarnero: the municipality of Navalcarnero is located 17 kilometres southwest of Móstoles. This small municipality has beautiful and interesting monuments that still conserve their village atmosphere. We can highlight visits to the Plaza de Segovia with its colourful façade and its beautiful churches and hermitages, such as the 16th century Parish Church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción. It is the ideal place for a getaway to the outskirts of Madrid or to enjoy its unique fair. In any case, it is less than 20 kilometres away and can be reached in approximately 15 minutes.
