WHERE TO GO WITH YOUR RENTAL CAR IN FUERTEVENTURA

Fuerteventura is much more than beautiful paradisiac beaches. It has many places to discover thanks to your rental car in pepecar.com

Beginning at the northwest part, close to Cotillo, you will find one of the most beautiful fishing villages on the island. It also has a wide and varied range of restaurants. Moreover, this town is surrounded by the best beaches of Fuerteventura, for instance, La Concha and Los Lagos, whose crystalline water and white sand are, simply, a must-see of the island. To go from Puerto del Rosario, where the airport is, to Cotillo, you have to take the FV -10 road. The journey will take about 35 minutes long, as it is 37 kilometers away.

Before coming to Betancuria through the FTV -30, and leaving behind the Mirador of Morro Velosa, you will arrive at the Mirador Guise and Yose, which has two impressive bronze statues of four meters high representing the ancient kings of Fuerteventura before the conquest in 1402. Besides, it is one of the most beautiful viewpoints of both the northern half of Fuerteventura.

If you continue the route, you will see Betancuria. From Cotillo to Betancuria are 46 kilometers and the trip will take you approximately 50 minutes. Did you know that Betancuria was, for many centuries, the capital of Fuerteventura? Its name is a tribute to Jean de Betencourt.

Clos tor Betancuria, only 15 kilometers away, you can visit The Ampuyenta, a village inside the municipality of Puerto de Rosario. It is located about 20 kilometers from the capital going through the FV- 20 road. As landmarks in Ampuyenta, Pepecar recommends La Ermita, Doctor Mena Museum, the House of Fray Andresito, and the Fountain of Los Pocitos.

Also, close to this area, only 15 kilometers away from it, you will be able to visit with your rental car the Dam of Los Molinos. This dam is the largest reservoir of fresh water all over Fuerteventura. The reservoir is close the road from Tefía to the village of Los Molinos. Once you have reached the town of the Parcelas, take a ground road on the left, which leads to the area.

Finally, visit the village of Pájara, located about 40 kilometers from the reservoir of los Molinos. This town is famous for having a double record, as it is the largest municipality of Spain in terms of extension, and it has more kilometers of coastline than any other place in Spain. It is not surprising that it has one of the longest beaches in Spain. Our recommendation is that you visit the Church of the Virgin of Regla, whose portico with several Aztec details is worth enjoying.
